Coinserca is a Venezuelan company founded in 1988 by Leoncio López (1937–2020), born in Peru, who began working on major engineering projects in his home country in the 1960s for the American corporation Utah Construction & Mining Company, then the world’s largest construction company. There, López learned a working methodology that he applied throughout his professional life, until he built his own company and placed it among the ten largest construction companies in Venezuela.

In 1990, Coinserca signed an agreement with the Centro de Investigaciones Tecnológicas de Oriente (CITO), a scientific foundation affiliated with the Universidad de Oriente, which allowed the company to plan and develop verified growth. This led the company to produce its own concrete, concrete blocks, and structural beams for all its projects.

In 1994, Coinserca signed a $20 million alliance with the American company Honeywell to develop and supply electrical control equipment for oil-related buildings.
In 1995, Coinserca contracted a team of French engineers and architects to implement the most advanced building simulation technology using cutting-edge tools, making Coinserca the most advanced Venezuelan company in information technology applied to civil engineering and architecture.

From 1988 through 1992, Coinserca established a partnership with Banco Latino, the most important bank in Venezuela at that time, and a joint participation agreement with Banco Mercantil de Venezuela.
Its close relationship and partnership with the most important banks in Venezuela relied on strong management and maintaining audited financial statements through Deloitte Touche.
In 1994, Coinserca began constructing its headquarters in Barcelona, Anzoátegui state, the first intelligent building built in the interior of Venezuela.
Coinserca was ranked among the five most important clients of Venezuelan banks: Banco Mercantil, Banco Venezolano de Crédito, Banco Canarias, Banco Industrial, and Banco Confederado.
Coinserca strengthened and expanded its highest-level relationship and investment in Venezuela’s banking sector when, in 1998, the company acquired the Venezuelan assets of Banco del Trabajo de Chile

After growing through banking alliances, Coinserca established itself as the main housing provider for the oil industry in eastern Venezuela, with offices and permanent camps in the cities of Barcelona, Anaco, El Tigre, Maturín, and Cumaná, and concrete plants in three of them, with the capacity to produce up to 2,000 m³ (70,629 cubic feet) of concrete per day.
In alliance with the French cement company Lafarge, Coinserca became one of the largest concrete suppliers for the eastern petrochemical complex until 1999.
During the oil boom of the 1990s, COINSERCA won, through bidding, the execution of 24 of the 40 largest civil works carried out by the oil industry in eastern Venezuela, including landmark projects such as BP’s Latin American headquarters, completed in 1999, with $20 million in financing from the British Bank Barclays.

With Hugo Chávez Frías coming to power in 1999 and his direct confrontation with Coinserca's main clients in the oil industry, the company’s owners diversified their investments into media and satellite communications equipment, opening operations in Colombia, Panama, Peru, and the United States.
In 2000, Coinserca acquired El Diario de Caracas, and in 2005, it acquired The Daily Journal; that same year, it launched a national television network called Canal de Noticias. https://tdj.news/

Anzoategui TV stands as the leading communication platform in eastern Venezuela, originating in Barcelona and expanding across the entire state through its strong commitment to regional identity. Under the slogan “Our Own Comes First,” the network delivers high-value cultural and informational content and upholds credibility and journalistic balance as core principles. Despite the country’s media challenges and shifting landscape, its signal has operated continuously for 20 years, serving as a trusted voice for the community in times of both prosperity and adversity.
In 2013, Coinserca opened operations in Panama to develop satellite communication projects, leading to developments in this field in England and Spain through alliances with providers in 28 countries.
In 2015, Coinserca invested in Silicon Valley TV.
In alliance with Universidad Simón Bolívar, Coinserca developed a technology entrepreneurship center within Stanford University’s research and development center.

In 2016, Coinserca acquired Mira TV, which had been the original CNN Latino project for the Hispanic market in the United States.

Today, Coinserca continues to evolve as a dynamic business group, combining expertise in construction, real estate management, and technology. Its trajectory reflects a constant ability to anticipate change, integrate innovation, and deliver solid solutions in complex environments.

In 2014, as part of its goal to diversify its investment portfolio, Coinserca funded high-impact projects in the technology and science sectors. These initiatives resulted from an academic and scientific collaboration between Simón Bolívar University and Stanford University. Teams developed these projects within the innovation ecosystem of the Stanford Research Park in the United States. https://www.coyotenest.com/
